Ideal Shelving for Utility Rooms

This week we had an email from Paula in Cardiff, Wales. She emailed us asking what the best type of shelving unit was for her new utility room; she was struggling to figure out what type of shelving she should use as; “There are so many options, I just don’t really know where to start!”

We recommended for Paula to look at our extensive chrome shelving range. Why? Because of these four key considerations:

  1. Reducing Damp – In a room that is going to have a lot of potential for damp, it’s essential that you pick shelving systems which will allow air to circulate as freely as possible. This means that anything stored on them is at minimal risk of exposure to moisture collections. Good design with plenty of space can make all the difference.
  2. Easy To Assemble – All of our chrome shelving systems are extremely easy to assemble as they come free from nuts and bolts. This means that you can just install them and not worry about wasting your weekend figuring out instructions that look like they might be for a spaceship, just to get your shelves up.
  3. Durability & Expansion – The great thing about chrome is that it gives a consistent, clean and modern look. This means that if in future you want to add any more shelving it won’t look out of place. Furthermore our range supports the ability to easily add more shelves and bays, so if you find out that you need that extra shelf in a couple of months’ time, you only need to order the single shelf instead of a whole new unit.
