RHP Racking Industrial Storage Solution Project

Port Talbot-based GenSet PLC is a market leader in the provision of a range of power equipment solutions to leading rental organisations in the UK, Europe and beyond. The company is currently in the midst of a major expansion programme. A significant segment of this programme is to offer a superior technical and training facility for all users of GenSet Plc equipment.

RHP Racking, a division of Richard H. Powell & Partners Limited, were invited to carry out a review of all warehouse and storage facilities, repair and service operations, along with office accommodation for existing and new members of staff over two sites. A number of options were presented before GenSet Plc awarded RHP Racking the complete fit out contract for all warehouse racking, shelving, mezzanine floors and office furniture, subject to meeting a strict timetable to avoid peak workloads.

The contract was carried out in phases to minimise disruption of day to day business, and was completed in time for their busiest period of the year. RHP Racking would like to thank Mr Paul Lloyd of GenSet who helped greatly to ensure that all works were carried out to agreed schedules, and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate GenSet Plc on the completion of their new UK Headquarters, which will be of huge benefit for their existing and new clients and ensure their continued global success.

Tredz Bikes invest in RHP Racking’s storage solutions to save space at their Swansea premises

Tredz are an established cycle retailer dating back to 1989, with bicycle shops in
Penarth, Cardiff and Swansea. Tredz have already invested heavily in an on-line site
offering not only bicycles but a full range of accessories.

Due to exceptional growth Tredz quickly outgrew their existing main store capacity
in Swansea which also services their Cardiff premises.

Tredz contacted RHP Racking, a division of Richard H. Powell & Partners Limited,
to provide a storage solution to accommodate not only their immediate storage
requirements, but also to cater for future expansion of both sites.

After presenting various design options, RHP Racking with the input of Nick Fluck
from Tredz, provided a raised storage platform with longspan shelving to store bicycle
accessories on first floor area, together with fire rated office accommodation to house
Tredz on-line sales team.

The ground floor area utilised existing pallet racking for storage of flat-pack bicycles.
RHP Racking worked closely with Tredz nominated M & E contractor MJW Electrical
whose assistance was greatly appreciated during the early construction stages.

RHP Racking were also responsible for obtaining full Building Regulations and Fire
Officer Approval for complete works.

We would like to thank Nick and his team for all their assistance during the course
of this contract and wish them continued success over the coming years.
